ATTENDANCE POLICY

Classes bgin at 8:00am and ends at 3pm, Monday through Friday.

According to Louisiana Bulletin 741:6.055.02, "a student is allowed only ten day of absences within one semester."

If a student is going to be absent, the student's parents or guardian must notify the school that day as early as possible. When the student returns to school, the student must have a note signed by the student's parent or guardian. Forged notes will result in corrective action.

Students are expected to arrive on time every day. A student may be put on probation or suspension for chronic tardiness.

Chronic unexcused absences will result in corrective action. A doctor's excuse is required for an extended absence on account of illness.

Before a student checks out and exits the campus, the student's parents or guardian or listed authorized person must sign the child in or out.

Should an emergency arise, i.e., ice storm, the school will follw the lead of the Caddo Parish Public School System. Radio and television reports will keep parents, guardians, and students aware of school closings.



FUNDRAISING POLICY

In an effort to keep tuition cost low while maintaining a quality education with Christian values, each parent or guardian is required to commit 100% to participating in fundraising drives and projects undertaken throughout the school year.

Information on fundraising drives and projects will be announced throughout the school year.



PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION

The administration encourages 100% participation in the school's Parent-Teacher Association(PTA). The PTA will engage in many activities which will benefit your children.



ECCLESIATICAL & RELIGIOUS RULES

Central Free Methodist Christian Day School is parochial school and is governed by Central Free Methodist Church. Our church, out of which our school grew, established the rules and regulations of our school in 1946. they were formed to provide a sound base upon which each childe build social, moral, and spiritual knowledge.

The Free Methodist Church School, through our local Central Free Methodist Christian Day School, affirms that we operate without discrimination to students and staff on the basis of race, sex, color and national origin. Our school policies are in accordance with Title VII of the Civil Right Act of 1964, Title XI of th 1972 educational amendments, and Section 4.03(a) and 4.03(c) revenue procedure 75-50.

Our Ecclesiastical and Religious rules are as follows:

  • Every student is expected to attend Church and Sunday School unless hindered by circumstances over which the student as no control. If you do not have a Church home you are invited to attend our Church and Sunday School;
  • Smoking is not allowed;
  • Every student must give due respect to the principal, administrator, superintendent, teachers, and members of the staff. Disrespectful behavior toward any person at CFM will not be tolerated. Such acts of disrespect will make a student subject to corrective action, including suspension or expulsion;
  • No student may be excused from instruction of the Bible;
  • In accordance with the laws of the state all students are held to regular and puctual attendance. Students are not permitted to leave the school premises during recess or school hours without permission of the teacher and parent or guardian;
  • Each student must enter and exit the classroom and building as instructed by the teacher;
  • Students are not permmitted to appear on campus before before the appointed time;
  • Student must appear in the classroom with clean hands, face and clothing. Each student's desk must be kept clean and in orderly condition;
  • All students must wear the school uniform each day unless otherwise stated;
  • Disthonesty, including but not necessarily limited to cheating, of any kind, forging parents' or guardians' signatures, stealing, plagiarism or willful lying, makes a student subject to corrective action, including suspension or expulsion;
  • For CFM students, fighting is serious offense (on or off campus) that may result in suspension or expulsion. Fighting is defined as an act of physical affression resorted to when altenatives are available for avoiding such an act;
  • With the exeption of school-authorized raffles, no form of gambling or games of chance are allowed on campus;
  • Gum chewing is forbidden while the student is on school property;
  • All students enrolled in the school are subject to its rules and regulations.
